ABOUT BRIAN
In his spare time, Brian enjoys traveling, camping, golfing, and spending time with Jenni and their two dogs. In September 2009, Brian started treatment for a cancerous tumor that was discovered around his Pancreas. The size of the tumor made surgically removing it impossible at this time. It is pushing up against other vital organs and any attempt to remove the tumor is too dangerous. Brian underwent chemotherapy treatments that would hopefully shrink the size of the tumor and make surgery possible. The tumor stopped growing but, unfortunately, did not shrink and Brian needs to look at another option for help. The Virginia Piper Cancer institute will help send Brian to Houston, Texas. However, the trip to Texas and the medication are not paid for and this is an opportunity for us to help Brian. Brian has been accepted to the Houstan Program and will be heading to Texas to begin the process February 1st. He will be in Houston for two weeks. The first week will be full of tests, scans and appointments. On his birthday, February 10th, Brian will get the medication via a three hour IV. Because Brian will officially be "radioactive" after the medication, he needs to stay a few more days before heading home by car (he can't be within six feet of others so flying is out). Brian will need to return to Texas in May for another eight days of testing and another round of medication.
